Volunteer Opportunities

HFHWRA uses volunteers for all sorts of work. They help with building and repairing homes, of course, but there are many other duties like helping in the office and ReStore, bringing food to volunteers, and serving on our committees. Volunteering is also a great way to earn community service service learning hours. Fill out a Volunteer Application here and read below to see the list of volunteer opportunities! If you have questions or would like to set up an orientation, call the office at 608-448-2888 or email lauren@hfhwisconsinriver.org. Learn more about volunteer opportunities by browsing our Volunteer Brochure.

What is a Team Build?
Sabrina, Tina, Sue (1)

Gather your team, organization, or company for a day of volunteering together! Have fun while giving back to your community. Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area (HFHWRA)’s Team Build is an opportunity to strengthen relationships and develop new skills. Teams will communicate and work together to provide visible, tangible outcomes in their community. These new skills and team collaboration allow members of your team to return to the workplace motivated, connected, and inspired.

What are the benefits of doing a Team Build?

  • Increase visibility to community

Habitat for Humanity is a globally recognized nonprofit that provides safe, affordable, and decent housing. When you partner with Habitat, 5.06.2017 - Schreiber Foods -w-text - Hannah-Jennifer-Chelsea-Cindy-Carlene-Tonya-Kristiyou demonstrate a commitment to your community and will be associated with community service and improvement.

  • Strengthen relationships

Working together and tackling challenging projects is a great way to strengthen relationships.

  • Improve communication and build new connections

Learning new tasks and completing tasks as a team will improve leadership and interpersonal skills among your team.

Why do we ask for a donation?

Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area asks teams to contribute a tax-deductible donation for a Team Build day to help with the organization of the build, extra staffing required to host a group, and to help finance the build.

We work to provide affordable housing for families in need and we aim to build as many homes as we can. We depend on the generosity of our donors and volunteers to offer affordable housing to our partner families.
